PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Pascagoula police say a 15-year-old faces a charge of sexual battery for allegedly engaging in sex acts with a 2-year-old.
Police Lt. Davy Davis tells The Sun Herald that relatives apparently caught the teen allegedly sexually assaulting the child and reported it to authorities.
Sexual battery is a felony punishable by up to 30 years.
Police Chief Kenny Johnson said the teen was charged as an adult and remains jailed at the Pascagoula Municipal jail on a $250,000 bond.
