JACKSON, MS - The day for a Jackson elementary school teacher got off to a rough start. Shortly before 6:30 Friday morning a teacher was robbed in the parking lot of Marshall Elementary School, located at 2909 Oak Forrest Drive.
According to Jackson Police, an unarmed man ran toward the victim from some bushes and ripped a gym bag away from her as she was unloading her car. The suspected robber then took off on foot running toward Woodell Street.
The victim described the alleged thief to police as standing 6-feet-4 inches tall, weighing 240 pounds and wearing a black sweatshirt. She said that the suspect had pulled the sweatshirt over his head as he executed the robbery and ran away.
An official with Jackson Public Schools said a security guard responded to the teacher's calls for help, and that the victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
