STATEWIDE, MS (WLBT) - More than 30 counties in the Magnolia state are under a burn ban.
The Mississippi Forestry Commission has issued a statewide wildland fire alert.
The Forestry Commission strongly discourages the public from all burning activities until further notice. The current drought conditions and the predicted weather pattern for the next week has boosted the fire danger rating for the state to extremely high.
Also, the national weather service has issued a "fire weather watch" for portions of the state.
