Teen hospitalized after being struck by car

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A teenager is hospitalized after being hit by a car in Jackson.

JPD officer Colendula Green says the unidentified 14-year-old girl was injured Friday just before 6 p.m.

It happened at 1034 West Woodrow Wilson at the Jaxco Convenience Store.

Investigators say the teen walked into the path of a silver Pontiac G6. The car was traveling east on Woodrow Wilson at the time of the accident.

The unnamed driver was cited for having no insurance.

Police say the teenager suffered non- life threatening injuries.
