Copiah County wreck kills one, injures two

COPIAH COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A child was killed in a deadly crash on Monticello Road southeast of Hazlehurst Tuesday afternoon. 

Sheriff Harold Jones tells WLBT News twenty-two month old Dakota May was killed in the accident. Her mother, Victoria Jones, was airlifted by helicopter to University Medical Center in Jackson. May's brother, Quincy May, was taken to UMC by ambulance.

The driver of the other car, Grace Bozeman, 17, was only slightly injured.

It appears two cars collided head-on. A mangled sedan was left in the middle of the road, and the other car came to rest on the shoulder in some trees.
