JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Two people are recovering at a Jackson hospital after being shot Tuesday night. According to Jackson Police the shooting happened around 649 Cottage Street, near Collier Street.

18-year-old Jeremy Gatlyn and 23-year-old Willie Bass each suffered gunshot wounds. Jackson Police spokesperson Officer Colendula Green said they are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.

Both men were taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center where they are being treated for their injuries.
