Miss. Guard probe breach of personnel information

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi National Guard is investigating the extent of a security breach after about 3,000 active members' personnel records, including social security numbers, were posted online for several weeks.

Guard spokesman Tim Powell said the website is no longer accessible, and officials are trying to determine if anyone's information has been compromised and to what extent.

Aaron Titus of the Washington-based Liberty Coalition found the breach.

Titus says administrative records belonged to the 155th Brigade Combat Team, and were compiled between 2006 and 2008, including while the brigade was deployed in Iraq. The files also included dates of birth, security clearance data, ranks and pay grades.
