JPD investigates armed robbery of the State Bank & Trust

Jackson, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Police are looking for the man they say robbed a bank Tuesday morning.

It happened around 8 o'clock this morning at the State Bank & Trust on I-55 North in Jackson.  Police were able to get a picture of the suspect who was seen with a mask and wearing dark clothing.

Police say about six employees were inside the bank when the crime happened.  Fortunately, no one was hurt.  The robber got away empty-handed.

JPD Spokeswoman Colendula Green explains says, "around 8am the president of the bank was entering the bank when a man with a handgun, wearing a dark suit and mask. He demanded her to walk inside the bank where he jumped the counter and opened up register but there wasn't any money... He fled the scene to an unknown location."

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked police at 601-960-1234.
