BRANDON, MS (WLBT) - Law enforcement officials return to the scene of Thursday's marijuana bust to search for the escaped driver from a seized vehicle.

Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers spotted the Hispanic male at a retail store on Highway 80 in Brandon Saturday afternoon, just west of the east Brandon exit.

MHP has shared surveillance video taken at D's One Stop in Brandon around 10:30 Saturday morning. It shows the Hispanic male buying some items, using a large wad of cash to purchase his snacks. He's believed to be in his early 20s, not a legal U.S. resident, but traveling from Houston.

MHP warns the man is approaching residents asking to use cell phones and for rides out of state.

Officials searched the thickly wooded area across Rankin Road in rural Rankin County again Saturday for the escaped suspect.

MHP says the man was wearing dark clothing at the time of the drug bust.

The routine traffic stop on I-20 eastbound turned up some 200 pounds of marijuana. It was stacked roof-high in the back of a black SUV with Texas plates.

If you have any information on this man's where abouts please call MHP at 601-987-1530.
