JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Candles were lit and prayers were lifted in memory of a Jim Hill High School graduate fatally shot on Friday.
Nearly 100 people sang hymns and prayed under the dim light of candles outside Jim Hill High School Sunday evening. They are all friends and family of Bruce Davis, Jr., a 2008 Jim Hill High graduate.
The 20-year-old was killed in a shooting at the Wal-Mart parking lot at Highway 18 and Greenway Drive in Jackson Friday morning.
Authorities say Davis and his cousin met two other men in the parking lot. After a heated argument Davis was shot in the chest and died 30 minutes later at a nearby hospital.
Officials say robbery may have been the motive.
