SHARKEY COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

SHARKEY COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Sharkey County authorities re-interviewed a relative in a 2009 double homicide.

31-year-old Karitha Carroll and her three-year-old daughter Jamaya were found with their throats slashed inside their Cary home on September 23, 2009.

Sheriff Lindsey Adams says, a relative who found their bodies, was questioned again Monday night at the Sharkey County Sheriff's Department.

According to the sheriff, the relative left town days after the double homicide and tried to relocate in Arizona, but recently returned to Sharkey County.

Adams does not consider the relative a suspect at this time.

The sheriff says no strong leads or suspects have emerged in the murder case.
