Jackson, MS (WLBT) - Lanier High School goes pink for breast cancer.
"Xing" Breast Cancer! That's the message from the parents, students and teachers at Lanier High School. Wednesday morning they gathered for a balloon release in recognition of breast cancer awareness month. Students dressed in pink to show their support for the cause.
They invited the community to take part in the celebration and encouraged them to purchase a pink ribbon in tribute to a survivor of or a loved one defeated by breast cancer. School officials say this is an important way for students to learn the value of giving back.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
