JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A well known Jackson criminal who led police on a high speed chase near downtown Thursday was back before a judge this morning. Michael Black plead not guilty to several misdemeanor charges in Jackson Municipal Court and is being held without bond.
JPD arrested Black near the Terry Road Metro Parkway intersection. He was captured after he wrecked a car, then tried to run on foot.
He is facing charges of felony fleeing police officers, possession of crack, and possession of a handgun by a felon. Black has also been charged with numerous traffic violations.
Police recovered a handgun and a bag with the drugs that Black had stashed behind a house on Pascagoula Street.
