MADISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Car enthusiasts were drawn to Madison County for two car shows with hundreds of vehicles.  EuroFest returned to Renaissance in Ridgeland with a flair for the flashy.

"They had the opportunity to see cars that they've never seen before and they may never see again in their lifetime," said Mike Marsh, the event's director.

In its second year EuroFest brought more than 125 cars and some real show stoppers.

"That's a 1955 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gold Wing," said Marsh of a car surrounded by people.  "it has the fitted luggage. It has the original wheels.  it has the tilt steering wheel and it's just a lovely car."

Not to be outdone the Scarecrow Car Show in Madison featured over 350 cars. "You can have a street rod.  You can have a customized, a stock automobile, old cars, any year Corvette," said Bert Craft of the open car show.  He is one of the founders for the Mississippi Classic Cruiser Car Club.

The show featured a one of a kind 1939. "It's powered by a steam engine.  It was a custom build by a man in New Orleans by the name of D.A. Warringer.  It was started in the 1940s because he was upset about gas rationing during the war," said the vehicle's owner Joe Brister.

If you missed the cars Saturday, organizers said they'll be back next year with more rare automobiles.
