Police believe recent robbery linked to another

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Police believe a bold daytime heist of a Jackson business could be linked to another recent armed robbery.

JPD officers responded to the scene at Advanced Auto Parts on Medger Evers Boulevard around 1:42 this afternoon. Investigators say three men entered the store wearing ski masks and displaying hand guns. No shots were fired, and no one was injured. Police think these same men may be responsible for Thursday's armed robbery of the Dollar General Store on Highway 80.

"They locked the door and ordered one employee to the floor and ordered the other employee to open the safe where they took an undisclosed amount of money. After taking the money they fled on foot behind the store," said Officer Colendula Green.

According to witnesses the men left in a green Chevy suburban, the same description given as the get away car in Thursday's heist. Detectives are reviewing surveillance video.
