JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Two men accused of selling fake laptops in a hotel parking lot in Jackson were put behind bars Saturday.  The narcotics unit of the Hinds County Sheriff's Department received an anonymous tip about activity in the Red Roof Inn parking lot at the 700 block of Larson Street.

When deputies arrived they found a real laptop surrounded by several blocks of wood packaged to look like real computers.  Thirty-five-year old Chris Harper and 30-year-old Johnathan Gilmore of Jackson were each charged with one count of copy right infringement.

"This type of thing wouldn't happen if you didn't have a lot of people who wanted a whole lot of something for a little bit of nothing. So as you can see once you spend a whole lot of your money you basically end up with a whole lot of nothing. So we ask that the public help us run these guys out of business and stop purchasing this kind of stuff and we wouldn't have these kind of problems," said Hinds County Sheriff's Department Lt. Jeffery Scott.

Investigators also impounded a brown Chevy Malibu.  Harper and Gilmore were being held at the Hinds County Detention Center pending an initial court appearance.
