Jackson civil rights leader, doctor dies Monday

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A civil rights pioneer who practiced medicine in Jackson for over 40 years has died.

Dr. Albert Britton who set up his medical office on historic Farish Street died Monday morning.

Dr. Britton's family tells us he will be remembered for the thousands of babies he delivered and by generations of families.

He served throughout the Jackson area.

Dr. Britton was a veteran of both World War II, and the Korean War and a recipient of the bronze star.
