Ridgeland, MS (WLBT) - A longtime transportation leader for the disabled is ending their service in Mississippi.  WLBT has learned, LeFleur Transportation of Ridgeland will stop providing transportation in Mississippi Thursday.

Company C.F.O. Mike Ford says they will continue to operate their services in four other states, and hope to return service to Mississippi in the future.

The Madison County Citizens Services Agency also offers transportation services for the disabled across the county.

They operate several handicap accessible vehicles, that make regular routes on weekdays, and can do door-to-door service for those who qualify.

Director Dr. Mary Sims-Johnson says, "Especially in rural areas they really pride on our services. It's the only means of transportation services they have. It's affordable. Often they share with us that people charge them $30 dollars to go someplace in Madison County, and we know they're being over charged."

Anyone with a disability needing transportation services can call them at 601-855-5710.
They also offer route services for all citizens from $4 - $6.
