JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Thirty-two year-old Ronnie Terrell Williams of Jackson, who lived on Lampton Avenue and owned his own trucking company was killed instantly when the car he was driving knocked a boulder like rock, 90 feet down Mill Street.

The owner of a building nearby tell us this is the third time this has happened, but the first fatality.

Ken Simmons owns Homeworks, a home renovation company. He hopes the city will somehow warn people that the right lane of mill street is running out.

"Unfortunately someone had to lose their life this morning, and I would like to think that this is an opportunity to make this a safer intersection, that would slow some people down before somebody else gets hurt," Simmons said.

A front end loader from the nearby Canadian National Railroad, had to be borrowed to move the rock back where it was, in the grass at Mill and Mitchell.

You can see the right lane of mill street just ends at the rock.
