HATTIESBURG, MS (WLBT) - A Hattiesburg landmark and beloved spot for movie goers was destroyed by a raging fire early Saturday morning.
The Beverly Drive-In Theater caught fire around 3 a.m. For 62 years its giant screen brought Hollywood stars to the Pine Belt. The drive-in opened in 1948 and was recently closed because of storm damage by Hurricane Katrina.
In 2008 it made the list of the top ten most endangered historic places in Mississippi.
