STATE WIDE (WLBT)- No problems have been found in a new round of testing for chemical dispersants in seafood from the Gulf of Mexico.
That's according to federal scientists who say gulf seafood is safe to eat. The tests found only a few trace amounts of residue from dispersants that were used to break up oil spewing from BP's broken well.
Over 1700 tissue samples were tested, and of those only 13 showed trace amounts of dispersant residues and those were well below the safety threshold for seafood.
