Warrant issued for Gary Collins' arrest

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Gary Collins, for leaving the scene of a car accident. A witness says Collins' white Jeep rear-ended a car driven by 48-year-old Cheryl Shales in Jackson yesterday afternoon.

It happened around 4:00 on the I-55 Frontage Road at Old Canton Road. The witness told police that Collins left the scene, so they are in the process of getting a warrant for his arrest.

Collins' wife is Mary Ann Mobley, a former Miss America from Brandon.

He's been arrested three times for DUI over the last 10 years. He was convicted at least once.
