The Clarion Ledger experiences a layoff

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - WLBT has learned the largest daily newspaper in Mississippi has undergone another round of layoffs.

It was said that 15 people are no longer employed by the Clarion Ledger including managers, photographers and a sports reporter.

Two reporters resigned on their own and award-winning cartoonist Marshall Ramsey is now a part-time employee.

WLBT has not been able to reach publisher Larry Whitaker for comment.

Last July, the newspaper, owned by the Gannett Corporation, laid off 20 employees.
