Police search for identity of shooting victim

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – Police in the capital city need your help finding the identity of a fatal shooting victim.

Around nine o'clock Saturday witnesses reported hearing gunfire behind the Express Fuel Station on Bell Street near Bailey Avenue.

J.P.D. investigators said a white male was found lying in the street with from a gunshot wound to the head.

He had no identification and no other injuries.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart said the man appears to be in his early 30's, approximately six feet tall with reddish blond hair and a goatee.

He has a slender build.

The man was wearing a long sleeved orange T-shirt, and blue plaid flannel shirt with blue jeans and brownish gray crocs.

Police do not have a motive in the shooting.

No suspect has been identified.
