JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Local artists displayed their best water color works at a Jackson art show. The Municipal Art Gallery hosted an open house to showcase the Mississippi Watercolor Society's art exhibition Sunday.
It highlighted 100 pieces from the members that are later judged for ribbons and cash prizes. Located on North State Street in the heart of downtown Jackson, the Municipal Art Gallery is a center for cultural and artistic expression for local artists.
"When they have an opportunity to exhibit their work it helps them to focus on their work. It gives them an opportunity to see others. That gives them a target on how to develop their skills. I think it's a great venue for Jackson," said Becky Mitchell with the Mississippi Watercolor Society.
The Watercolor exhibit is open to the public to view for free from November 6th until December 3rd.
