RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) - Ridgeland Police want to know if the woman who plowed into the back of a stationary truck on I-220 Wednesday afternoon was somehow distracted.
Christina Robinson, 26 of Clinton, was alert and talking when the jaws of life removed her from her GMC Envoy, but she did suffer serious injuries.
Police say just after 12:00 pm, Robinson crashed into the back of an MDOT vehicle that's clearly marked "Road Work Ahead" on the back.
The MDOT truck was stopped in the southbound roadway to slow traffic because there had been a prior accident further southbound.
"The MDOT truck was marked with some markings on it, it does have emergency lights on it, we will be doing some investigating to see if the lights are operational on that vehicle as well as interviewing the driver of the other car to see what she can tell us," said Ridgeland Police Lieutenant John Neal.
A car seat could be seen inside the Envoy, but police say no children were involved.
The wreck backed up southbound traffic for an hour and 20 minutes.
