FLOWOOD, MS (WLBT) - It's not as big as Mistletoe Marketplace, but it packs the same spirit.
This shopping event at the Flowood Y.M.C.A. Is called "Jingle All The Way". Crafts, jewelry, Clothing and other handmade items are for sale.
Our very own Walt Grayson was there signing copies of his latest book And we also found Jill Connor Browne selling Sweet Potato Queen items.
The youngest seller is 7 year-old Emma Sammons. Her teacher at Pinelake School recently visited Africa and she's challenging her students to raise money to help build a school there.
Fifty percent of Sammons' jewelry sales will support the school. "
I'm selling jewelry and it is for Africa. They need a teacher. I'm trying to raise money for them. They don't have clean water. They have to use a little bucket to take a shower, Sammons said.
The Y.M.C.A.'s active older adults group puts on the sale. The money raised will support programs to help disadvantaged children attend summer programs.
