Forest police chief to resign

FOREST, Miss. (WLBT) - The City of Forest is expected to have new leadership in law enforcement later this week.

During a phone interview Monday, current Chief Robert Roncali confirmed that he has plans to resign from his position.

Chief Roncali says the assistant chief, and a dispatcher will also step down.

He would not say the nature of his reason for resigning.

He plans to release a statement with details, sometime Thursday.

Calls to Forest Mayor Nancy Chambers were not returned.
