JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Academy's Davis Rogers has been named a 2010 Wendy's Heisman Program national finalist. The program was created in 1994 to recognize high school seniors who excel in academics, athletics and in their communities.
This year, more than 55,00 students applied for the Wendy's Heisman Award. Rogers is one of 12 finalists. The award will be given in New York City December 12th.
Rogers was recently announced as Mississippi's State Winner. The surprise announcement that he was a nationalist finalist came Wednesday morning at Jackson Academy.
