MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - It's a website with a purpose.

Supporters of Buy From A Christian.com talked about the opportunities for churches and other groups in this state and across the country to deal with economic struggles.

Brad McMullen, a former news anchor in Jackson, says this is an idea that is meant to help churches and non profit groups like the Salvation Army.

Local businessman Tommy Miskelly, of Miskelly's Furniture, says this site is an innovative way to serve the community.

Lt. Governor Phil Bryant says the site could employ as many as 250 to 300 people with high tech jobs in the state.

McMullen says the site is dedicated to making a difference.

"We have a great fund raising mechanism on our site. It is an online garage sale and any church can host a garage sale on bfac.com for free and they get 100 percent of the money", said McMullen.

"We've got a couple in our church that have piled up huge medical bills with brain cancer at M.D. Anderson. We're doing a garage sale and all the money goes to help defray that", Miskelly said.

"Churches that are benefiting from the garage sale for example will be able to deliver social services that otherwise the government would have to provide", said Bryant.

McMullen says the site has users in 129 different countries and all 50 states in this country.
