Run-off set for Tuesday for Hinds County Sub District One Judge Race

JACKSON, MS (WLBT)  A run-off is set for Tuesday in the race for Hinds County's sub-district one judge.

Candidates, Melvin Priester and Brent Southern are vying for votes to replace long-time judge, William Barnett.

Barnett did not seek re-election.

Priester led a four-candidate field in this month's mid-term elections.

But he did not obtain the 50% plus one vote majority needed to avoid a run-off.

Southern etched out a 2nd place finish.
