RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) - The festive Thanksgiving mood at the Honeybaked Ham Store in Ridgeland quickly turned nightmarish Wednesday night after a frightening accident.

Four people were injured when a customer's vehicle smashed into the front of the business.

The food store looked more like an auto dealership after the car crashed through the front door.

Three customers refused treatment for minor injuries but one woman needed medical attention.  Her name was not released.

The driver was clearly upset but not injured.  Police did not press charges.

One witness, Keisha Greer, said, "he made a statement out the window to her, don't walk in front of a moving vehicle, just kind of joking, so we were walking to the door and when we got almost to the door, all we heard was his tires screeching and when they did, he just floored it and backed into the store. I think he was trying to park but I don't know if he hit the gas instead of the brake but he floored it and ran into the store."

One customer was actually pinned between the car and the counter inside the store. The woman was transported to UMC for observation.

Honeybaked Ham's corporate office issued a statement saying in part, they will open a "thankful fund" with a local bank to defray the victim's medical costs.

There were about 15 people inside the store at the time of the accident that happened about 5:30 Wednesday evening.
