Mississippi Marine killed in Afghanistan

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The Department of Defense announces the death of a Mississippi Marine in Afghanistan.

Twenty-seven-year-old First Lt. William Donnelly IV., of Picayune was killed while, conducting dismounted combat operations against enemy forces.

It reportedly happened in Helmand Province Afghanistan on Thursday.

Donnelly was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, First Marine expeditionary force, Camp Pendleton, California.
