YAZOO CITY, MS (WLBT) - A Yazoo city police officer is in stable condition at University Medical Center after being shot multiple times early Sunday morning.

Authorities said Officer Patrick Jaco was off duty when he was struck by several bullets at the House Doctor night club located at Water and Bridge Streets in Yazoo City.

Investigators said around one a.m. two men were fighting and went outside to their cars to retrieve guns.

When they returned to the club they were stopped by the 24 year old officer.

Police said the two opened fire, striking Jaco and a security guard.

One of the men was arrested Sunday afternoon in Humphreys county.

We are told they are Rodney and Tommy Young.

Officials with the police department said they are persons of interest and that no charges had been filed.

Investigators would not say which man is in custody.

WLBT was told the two fled the scene in two vehicles, a silver 2000 Nissan Maxima and a brown 2000 Chevy Impala.

Both vehicles have Humphreys county tags.

One license plate number is H_H 813.

The second letter of the tag is not known.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is assisting in the search.
