JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - If you live in the City of Jackson your water-sewer bill just went up.
The City Council voted to increase the cost of water Tuesday.
Water bills go up 12.72% and your sewer bills increase 5.91%.
Jackson residents will see a $5 per month hike reflected on your bill.
This is effective immediately.
Officials say the increase was necessary to support the water-sewer system.
How much your water bill goes up, depends on how much water you use.
Officials haven't made a rate increase adjustment on water and sewer since 2004.
Councilman Jeff Weill was the only member to vote against the increase.
