Dr. Carolyn Meyers named Jackson State President

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The state college board, meeting on the Jackson State campus Wednesday afternoon, officially named Dr. Carolyn Meyers as the school's new president.

Dr. Meyers, former president of Norfolk State University in Virginia, was named the preferred candidate for the position last month.

She spent most of today meeting with faculty, staff, students and alumni. A news conference is underway on campus to introduce Dr. Meyers.
