VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) A welcome center off Interstate 20 near The Mississippi river bridge in Vicksburg is now back open after a top to bottom renovation.
The new makeover came with a price tag of more than $74,000. The new facility includes new crepe myrtle trees, Indian hawthorn bushes and groundcover grass.
It also has a timed irrigation system.
The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation owns the buildings that house the state's 14 welcome centers.
Vicksburg's welcome center opened back in 1980 and was last renovated back in 2005.
