JACKSON, MS (WLBT) -A Hinds County woman has been arrested for forging the signature of a woman she once "sat" for.
Attorney Jim Hood announced Friday, 56 year old Helen Childress of Jackson, was arrested Friday morning by investigators with the Medicaid Fraud unit of the Attorney General's office.
Childress is accused of using the rubber signature stamp of an elderly woman to affix her signature to a check stolen from the victim.
Authorities say Childress had written a check in the amount of $360 and made it payable to herself.
Along with prison time, the suspect could also face a 10-thousand dollar fine.
