VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - A robbery suspect, who crashed during a police pursuit, will face charges by Vicksburg police after his release from a Jackson hospital.
Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong said 24 year old Lemario Smoot grabbed money from a cash register at the Kangaroo Convenience Store on Washington Street Thursday.
Police later spotted his Ford Expedition and began a chase that ended when Smoot hit some trees and crashed on Interstate 20 near Edwards.
Chief Armstrong said he faces charges of strong arm robbery and other possible charges.
Smoot could also be linked to similar robberies in Jackson.
