JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – The holiday season is officially underway as thousands lined the streets across the metro Jackson area to watch the annual Christmas parades.
The first Saturday in December was a busy day for Santa who made stops and wished parade goers a Merry Christmas.
The festivities kicked off at 10 a.m. in Byram and Pelahatchie.
An hour later people in Flora gathered for their annual celebration.
At noon the City of Jackson's annual holiday parade wound through the downtown streets.
Floats and bands entertained the crowds as well in Ridgeland and Vicksburg by late afternoon.
Clinton and Florence parades got underway at six o'clock.
