LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Warren county Ohio man died after falling in the Daniel Boone National Forest.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported that hiker John W. Pacey died on the evening of Dec. 3.
The 44-year-old was hiking in Kentucky's Red River Gorge and lost his balance while hiking along a narrow trail. Authorities say Pacey slipped and fell about 150 feet down an embankment.
Emergency responders declared the man, a native of Waynesville, OH, as dead at the scene of the Wolfe county accident. The accident is still under investigation.
He is the second Ohio native to die in the gorge in the past two years. Ronald J. Trick, 63, fell 165 to his death in February of 2009.
