HINDS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A Madison youth soccer coach filed a lawsuit against a former Mississippi Congressman.

The complaint was filed in Hinds County Court on Wednesday.  In the lawsuit, coach Christopher Hester claimed to have been grabbed out of his vehicle by Chip Pickering then punched and thrown to the ground causing him to suffer physical and emotional injuries.

The altercation took place December 6th, 2009 at Liberty Park following a youth soccer game.  Both men filed simple assault charges against each other, but then agreed to withdraw the charges so the children who witnessed the incident wouldn't have to testify.

No amount for damages was stated on Hester's complaint.
