JACKSON, MS (WLBT) A Hinds County judge has ordered the body of a Jackson man be exhumed for a new autopsy.
The 21 year old died after he was jolted with a taser by a JPD officer back in 2007.
According to the Clarion-Ledger, the body of Rafael Forbes will be exhumed for a new autopsy after a medical expert for the family questioned findings in that 2007 autopsy.
Right now, it is not certain when the body will be exhumed.
But the motion to exhume the body reads that Dr. Steven Hayne, who performed Forbes' autopsy, ruled his death as a result of hypertensive heart disease, morbid obesity and hyperthermia.
But according to a medical expert hired by Forbes' mother, Patricia, experts says its impossible to fully analyze the cause of death using Dr. Hayne's autopsy reports.
Meantime , Patricia Forbes has filed a lawsuit against the city of Jackson, Taser International Incorporated and others related to her son's death.
The city of Jackson's defense is that the taser did not cause Forbes' death based on autopsy reports.
