JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Gov. Haley Barbour has ordered that state flags be lowered to half-staff Tuesday in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
Barbour says it's important to remember the sacrifices made when more than 2,400 Americans were killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.
In accordance with the governor's executive order, Mississippi flags on all state buildings and grounds will be flown at half-staff Tuesday from sun-up to sun-down.
