First "Apprentice" winner, Bill Rancic, visits Jackson

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - He was one of the lucky ones: a Donald Trump apprentice who never heard the words "you're fired".

Entrepreneur and real estate developer Bill Rancic spoke Wednesday during the Mississippi Technology Alliances's High-Tech Conference at the Jackson Convention Complex.

You might recognize him as the very inaugural winner of NBC's "The Apprentice" back in 2004, and he currently stars in the Style Network show *Giuliana and Bill* with his wife, E-News host Giuliana Rancic.

Add one more success to his belt: Rancic also hosts a new news magazine show called "America Now".

"It's not hard news, but it's news that's happening around the world. You're gonna say wow, I'm gonna try that in my community, try that in my life," he says of the show. "So many shows on TV today are filled with useless information. This is a show that has real content, whether it's health segments or automotive tips or home improvement. After you spend an hour with us, you're gonna be enriched."

"America Now" is already airing in some cities across the nation.
