USM weekend assault arrest

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WLBT) - A USM senior has been arrested for his role in a weekend assault.

Sigma Phi Epsilon member Chase Lagarde, 21, is charged with aggravated assault.

Lagarde turned himself into police after learning of the warrant for his arrest.

Lagarde is in the Forrest Co. Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.

Authorities say Stuart Ramsey, 19 of Jackson, was assaulted late Saturday night near that fraternity.

The University of Southern Mississippi has also indefinitely suspended the Sigma Epsilon Fraternity from its Hattiesburg campus.
