Jackson murder suspect surrenders

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The suspected shooter in a Jackson murder last week is being held without bond at the Hinds County Detention Center.

18 year-old Trent Cordelle Weathersby made his first court appearance Thursday after surrendering himself to police.

He is a suspect in the shooting death of 41-year-old Christopher Bridges.

Police found Bridges in the middle of Clubview Drive last Thursday with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Investigators say Bridges was riding in a car with another man on Hillside Drive when they were approached by three people.

Bridges was hit after one of the individuals fired through the back window of the vehicle.
