CANTON, MS (WLBT) - Parents in Canton met with Boys and Girls Club officials about how to keep their facility up and running Thursday.
Last week, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi announced the closure of the clubs in Canton, Bolton and Magnolia.
Due to lack of funding, all three clubs will close at the end of the month.
The closures will affect about 12-hundred children.
President and CEO Billy Redd says it would take about a half million dollars to keep them open.
"Same way we develop kids, long term ongoing involvement requires long term ongoing support and so we need the big donations. The one time donations, but we especially need that recurring ongoing check draft from as many individuals to step up and help," says Redd.
