PORT GIBSON, MS (WLBT) - Two men are in custody after a shooting in Port Gibson.

It happened at 706 College Street around six last night. According to police, Clyde Mazie opened fire on Emanuel Hedrick who was arguing with another man.

That man, Rodriguez Litscomb escaped with the gunman. Police arrested the pair in Pearl and they were transported back to Port Gibson. The homeowner was also shot in the leg. He was treated and released from a local hospital.

Hedrick died this afternoon at UMC in Jackson as a result of his injuries. Police Chief Calvin Jackson says Litscomb and Mazie were charged with aggravated assault but those charges will now be upgraded to murder.
