Man shot during robbery in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- A man was shot during a robbery Friday night.

It happened in Huntsville on Westwood Drive around 7:30 p.m.

Police said he was approached by a man at gunpoint while he was walking to his car.

Investigators said a brief struggle ensued and the victim was shot in the leg. He was able to escape and called police from a house on Rosedale Drive.

He was taken to Huntsville Hospital and is expected to recover. Police are still looking for a suspect.
